Momentum Builds as PHDC Strengthens Investor Confidence in Ghana’s Petroleum Hub Project

Jomoro, Ghana | 18 August 2025 — Dr. Toni Aubynn, Acting CEO of the Petroleum Hub Development Corporation (PHDC), has reaffirmed government and investor commitment to Ghana’s landmark Petroleum Hub during the Western Nzema Traditional Council’s annual general meeting. He emphasised landowner compensation, local recruitment, workforce training, and community-driven initiatives as central pillars of the project’s delivery strategy, pledging closer collaboration with Jomoro’s chiefs to secure long-term success.

The Petroleum Hub, positioned as one of Africa’s most ambitious energy infrastructure projects, continues to gain momentum with growing investor interest. Recent international engagements have underscored its potential to transform Ghana into a competitive energy and trade hub, positioning the country as a key player in global supply chains. Global investor attention reflects confidence in Ghana’s energy governance and its ability to meet rising regional demand.

Beyond infrastructure, PHDC has placed strong emphasis on human capital development. Through targeted workforce training initiatives, the corporation is equipping young professionals with technical and managerial expertise essential for operating large-scale energy facilities. These programs are aligned with global industry standards, ensuring that Ghana’s workforce remains internationally competitive while rooted in local participation.

The corporation’s commitment to international benchmarks was further highlighted at its inaugural summit on oil and gas measurement, reinforcing Ghana’s role in promoting transparency, efficiency, and credibility in energy markets. By embedding best practices in technical operations, PHDC seeks to guarantee reliability for investors and downstream industries.

At the community level, initiatives around landowner compensation and social development underscore PHDC’s pledge to balance investor priorities with local prosperity. Engagements with traditional leaders in Jomoro reflect a recognition that sustainable development requires cultural alignment, social legitimacy, and trust-building at the grassroots.

As Ghana advances its Petroleum Hub vision, the project is emerging as more than an infrastructure play—it is a convergence of global investment, local empowerment, and regional transformation. The alignment of investor confidence, government policy, and traditional authority places Ghana in a strong position to cement its status as West Africa’s energy gateway.
