Kumasi |  5 September 2025 — The GOIL Board of Directors, together with senior management, continued its nationwide familiarization program with a tour of strategic facilities in the Ashanti Region. The visit highlighted GOIL’s expanding role in the country’s downstream petroleum and aviation sectors while reinforcing the Board’s oversight and governance responsibilities.

The delegation began its tour at the GOIL Guest House in Kumasi, where discussions focused on repositioning the facility into a modern hospitality hub to serve both corporate and private clients. This underscores GOIL’s interest in leveraging its assets beyond fuel marketing to support broader commercial growth.

At the LPG Bottling Plant in Kumasi, the Board inspected operations led by Terminal Manager Nuhu Rahman. The plant, equipped with two tanks of 420m³ each, plays a critical role as a distribution hub for Ghana’s middle and northern belts. With demand for cleaner energy solutions rising, the facility represents GOIL’s strategic investment in strengthening LPG infrastructure to meet household and industrial needs.

The tour concluded at the Kumasi Aviation Facility, where Terminal Manager Karim Abubakar outlined the surge in aviation fuel supply. Remarkably, Kumasi is now fueling more aircraft than Accra, reflecting its growing importance as a regional aviation hub. This development signals GOIL’s capacity to support Ghana’s expanding air transport network and position Kumasi as a critical node in the aviation value chain.

The visit follows similar oversight tours of Tema and Takoradi operations, underscoring GOIL’s commitment to strong governance, innovation, and sustained infrastructure investment. The Board commended staff for their dedication and reaffirmed its vision of driving growth, operational efficiency, and leadership across Ghana’s energy and aviation sectors.
