TOR Strengthens Strategic Land Partnership With TDC Ghana Ltd.

On Tuesday, May 14, 2025, the Acting Managing Director of Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) Ltd, Mr. Edmond Kombat Esq. accompanied by the Deputy Acting Managing Director and key officials, paid an official visit to the Managing Director of TDC Ghana Limited. The engagement aimed to reinforce the longstanding institutional relationship between the two state-owned entities, with specific emphasis on the operational land lease arrangements that underpin TOR’s refining activities As the custodian of the land on which Ghana’s premier refinery operates, TDC plays a critical role in TOR’s ability to maintain and expand its downstream petroleum operations. The meeting served as a platform to reaffirm cooperation, review lease agreements, and address operational concerns that may impact refinery continuity or expansion.

Two technical committees were established during the meeting. One will be tasked with drafting terms of reference to guide broader negotiations, while the other will focus on a detailed review of the current lease framework—assessing obligations, ensuring legal compliance, and exploring avenues for improved land-use efficiency in support of TOR’s long-term strategic goals.

The interaction concluded with both parties expressing satisfaction with the outcomes and a renewed commitment to fostering a stable, functional partnership that supports Ghana’s downstream petroleum sector
