NPA Boss Embarks on Nationwide Tour: Calls for Security Support in Petroleum Sector

The Acting Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Godwin Kudzo Eduzi Tameklo, Esq., has embarked on a nationwide familiarization tour to engage key stakeholders in Ghana’s petroleum sector. His visit covered the Greater Accra, Ashanti, Bono, Eastern, and Volta regions, where he is assessing industry operations and exploring strategies to enhance collaboration.

A key focus of the tour is addressing the persistent challenge of illicit fuel activities, which continue to undermine the sector’s integrity. Mr. Tameklo emphasized the critical role of security agencies in tackling fuel smuggling, adulteration, and other illegal practices, calling for stronger partnerships to ensure compliance and protect consumers.

As part of efforts to improve fuel accessibility, the NPA is working towards extending fuel station operations to a 24-hour service nationwide. This initiative, which ties into broader industry reforms, is expected to enhance service delivery, stabilize supply chains, and improve fuel availability across the country.

With stakeholder collaboration and security agency support, the NPA remains committed to fostering a transparent and efficient petroleum sector for all Ghanaians.
