MILAN | 23 September 2025 – The Ghana National Gas Company (Ghana Gas) has elevated its global visibility with the participation of its Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Judith Adjobah Blay, at the GASTECH 2025 conference in Milan. The event, one of the world’s premier gatherings on natural gas, LNG, hydrogen, and low-carbon energy, provided a platform for Ghana to present its growing gas industry and highlight innovations in processing, supply, and infrastructure development.
Ghana Gas used the Milan showcase to demonstrate the country’s capacity to leverage its gas resources for industrialisation and sustainable energy delivery. Engagements at the conference underscored Ghana’s positioning within Africa’s broader gas-to-power growth narrative, as countries look to expand domestic use of natural gas while supporting regional integration.
The international outing followed renewed domestic coordination between Ghana Gas and the National Petroleum Authority (NPA). In August 2025, the two institutions held a joint meeting in Accra to deepen regulatory collaboration, particularly on supply reliability, safety standards, and pricing frameworks. The partnership has been framed as critical to strengthening governance within Ghana’s energy sector while building resilience against future supply disruptions.

These discussions gained urgency ahead of a planned maintenance shutdown of the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant, a key facility in the country’s gas infrastructure. Contingency measures, including adjustments to supply and enhanced regulatory oversight, are being advanced to mitigate risks to power generation and industrial customers during the shutdown period.
With international exposure at GASTECH 2025 and reinforced domestic regulatory alignment, Ghana Gas is seeking to balance its global positioning with operational stability at home. The dual focus reflects the company’s role at the intersection of energy diplomacy abroad and energy reliability within Ghana’s industrial economy.
